Don't panic until you've had the tests on Friday, Chrissie, and then we can come up with loads and loads of pud receipes. The GI diet is supposed to be fantastic.

This is a good link Chrissy,

Also, try drinking plenty of water as can help with lowering blood sugar levels. Recommended is eight glasses per day, not too much more though - as with every thing, in moderation....

When first diagnosed I was told water is magic medicine for people with RA as it helps to flush harmful toxins from the body.

My other personal recommendation is porridge -low GI & it fills u up and keeps u full for longer,
I used to think it was a bit boring at first but i add lots of fruit on top - just whatever is in season and i think its yummy now xxxxx

Please let us know how you get on, will be thinking of you, be careful not make too many changes all at once especially as you have previously had low blood sugar levels before,

Dont forget to relax and do things just for YOU sometimes,

Take care love Liz xxxxx

PS Sophie and her teddy say hi - Ted has gone all intellectual this weekend - he is wearing Jessie's joke glasses and looks like a little professor, he's helping me with my open uni work! xxxxx

Hi Chrissie, I hope you do find out before your hols. I hope you can relax and make the most of the lovely hotel food and wine. I had a high test and had to go for a second. My mum also has severe type 2. Luck for me the second test was ok - I hope yours turns out to be a one off result.

I had the same blood test 3 years ago and then went for Glucose Tolerance Test - results came back as an Impaired Glucose Tolerance (almost diabetic but not quite there). I was really good for a while but that has gone pear shaped as have I lol!

Hi Chrissie,

My husband was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes last December and he is managing to control it with diet.
It's pretty much the same diet as before but without the sweet stuff but he can have the occasional pudding!

Love, Doreen xx

Hi Chrissie,

Hope all is going well with the tests. If you have type 2, it can be controlled with a diet, but before you take an drastic measures to control what you eat, I would wait to hear back from your GP.

Pleased to hear you're keeping your chin up and taking things in your stride,

lots of love,

Barbara,
